The Digital Flintshire news from March 2022

March 2022

As you may know, the new Digital Strategy for Flintshire has been out for consultation and, as we await the results, we thought now would be a good time to introduce our first “digital blog” to let you know about all the good stuff which is already going on in Flintshire.

It’s been a busy few months since we launched our Digital Flintshire Hub in early September – an online resource to help residents to discover digital technology and build confidence in digital skills.  If you haven’t visited already, take a look at Digital Flintshire Hub – it’s being updated and added to all the time.

If you see something missing – let us know and we can add it in!

Contact communication@flintshire.gov.uk.

We’ve also established two other hubs – bringing together information on various services and topics, making them easy to locate and understand – namely ElectionsDirect Payments and Apprenticeships.  We are planning others to make finding information on our website easier.

My Account

My Account, launched in 2019, is a personal online account for residents and customers to be able to access a number of services relevant to them online.

You can register your child for a school place, check when your bin will be collected or get the contact details for your local councillor as well as log enquiries and track them online.

The most recent service to go live is Revenues and Benefits. It’s available 24/7 so you can access it at a time and place to suit you.  It’s quick and easy to sign up.  For more information, go to www.flintshire.gov.uk/My-Account and, if you haven’t already done it, register for My Account now!

Connects Centres and Contact Centre

We do appreciate that not everyone is able to get online, so we still have our five Connects Centres throughout the county in Flint, Holywell, Buckley, Mold and Connah’s Quay.

The Centres bring together Flintshire County Council, North Wales Police, Job Centre Plus and other partner organisations, to deliver high quality customer focused services.

We are currently looking into registering the Centres as “Online Centres” where we would be able to provide digital support to the public and vulnerable individuals in our community.  We are also looking into the possibility of holding “Digital Surgeries” at the Centres to help and advise people who want to get online or want to learn more about online services available.

As well as our Connects Centres, we have our Contact centre where you can get advice and support on the phone at 01352 702121. If you have any questions or comments for us regarding the Digital Strategy, please contact us at communication@flintshire.gov.uk.
