Welsh Medium Schools Places

Have you considered Welsh medium education for your child?

You don’t have to be a Welsh speaker for your child to benefit from a Welsh medium education.  There is a leaflet below, “Welsh medium Education – The Best of Both Worlds” which provides further information about the wider advantages of bilingualism.

Welsh Medium Education The Best of Both Worlds

In Flintshire, there are five Welsh medium primary schools and one secondary school:
Ysgol Glanrafon, Mold
Ysgol Terrig, Treuddyn
Ysgol Gwenffrwd, Holywell
Ysgol Mornant, Gwespyr Picton
Ysgol Croes Atti, Flint and Shotton
Ysgol Maes Garmon (secondary).

In response to public demand, Flintshire County Council worked in partnership with Menter Iaith Sir y Fflint and Mudiad Meithrin to open additional Welsh Medium provision in Shotton, on Plymouth Street.  This satellite of Ysgol Croes Atti, Flint has been available since September 2014 and continues to thrive.  There is an application form on line on the school admissions web page to apply for school places at any Welsh medium school, including Ysgol Croes Atti @ Glannau Dyfrydwy.
