​ PlayPals

The PlayPals project offers a 6-week programme which supports children in taking on new roles and responsibilities, whilst educating through the theory of play, covering a new topic each week.

A six-week project exploring the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive benefits of play. Children will learn about play in an informal and engaging way, taking on their own roles and responsibilities by leading games and activities.

Across the 6 weeks, children will participate in relevant games and activities, as well as complete their own PlayPals Workbook which will help them understand theoretical elements in the world of play and why it is important.

The aim of PlayPals is to allow the children to become ambassadors for play by rolling out the skills they have learnt to teach the younger children at playtime in school. The project also introduces the incidental use of the Welsh language and helps children develop confidence, communication, leadership and teamwork skills. At the end of the programme, children become ‘qualified’ PlayPals and play experts!

The cost of this project is £400.

​ Playful Progress

Playful Progress provides a choice of either loose parts play or a silent disco. Both activities provide an educative element as well as supporting well-being through play.

The loose parts activity is a bespoke session where schools can choose a topic the children are learning in class, and the play team will help deliver that through loose parts. For example, we have had themes such as WWII, Resilience, Communities, Inventions, The Victorian Era, The Jungle etc. This has allowed children to learn about these topics but also channel their imagination into creating something out of the resources provided.

The silent disco is a fun way to do some Numeracy, Literacy and Geography through mini games using music. In a 1-hour session, children have a sing and a dance to some well-known favourites whilst also testing their Maths skills, creativity, and their Geographical knowledge through music. The session ends with a movie soundtrack quiz which is always a favourite!

The aim of Playful Progress is to add playful elements to educative topics and activities, whilst having fun through play. It’s an effective way to instil confidence, develop teamwork skills, allow creativity and imagination to flourish in a safe, playful environment.

Each session comes at a cost of £50.

​ Loose Lunchtimes

This lunchtime provision allows children to use loose parts to enhance their playtime at school.

Our staff arrive at school with a van full of resources, facilitating play if and when needed.

The main aim of this project is to enrich the play environment at school, giving the children more play opportunities with a range of resources. It’s also to advocate children’s right to play and educate the importance of play for a school perspective.

Each session comes at a cost of £50.

​ Eco Champions

This is a 5-week programme for children to educate them on 5 key areas.

A five-session programme aimed primarily at Year 6 pupils, or Years 5 and 6 where classes are mixed. Each one-hour session focuses on a different environmental theme:

• Week 1 – Biodiversity
• Week 2 – Energy
• Week 3 – Sustainability
• Week 4 – Climate Change
• Week 5 – Environmental Action

The programme combines key environmental knowledge with interactive, play-based activities. During the final session, pupils will use the School Carbon Calculator to help identify ways the school can develop its own carbon and biodiversity initiatives.

This project is funded by the Biodiversity team and is completely free to all schools.

​ PlayWell

The aim of PlayWell is that it is a structured, school-based intervention that uses play as a tool to enhance resilience, support emotional regulation, improve social skills, and promote overall well-being.

A bespoke 12-week play-based programme designed to support children with their emotional regulation, wellbeing, confidence, and social development.

Each session explores a different theme through fun, engaging and purposeful play activities, giving children opportunities to understand and express their emotions, develop coping strategies, build positive relationships and work as part of a team.

​ Play Explorers

A bushcraft project that allows children to explore new skills in the outdoors.

A six-week project combining nature and play to encourage children to explore, learn and develop outdoors. Activities can include den building, fire lighting, habitat building, nature-based challenges and much more.

The project explores the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive benefits of play while encouraging children to engage with and learn from the natural environment.

The cost of this project is £400.
