uPVC

Due to the rising temperatures this week we will have tenant issues with shutting uPVC windows and doors.

At 40c frames can expand by up to 2.4cm. This is a perfectly natural behavioural element of the material and absolutely nothing to be concerned about, but it will cause temporary problems and difficulty, with opening and closing windows and doors. When the temperature cools the uPVC will return to its original form.

However, if you are having problems, you can also cool down the uPVC doors/windows by spraying the outside with water, or by patting down with a cold damp cloth. This will help the material to shrink back down to size so that it is once again within its normal working parameters.
