Health and Well-being

We need to secure a healthy future for the next generation. Working together, parents and practitioners can ensure the best start in life for all children in Wales.

A child’s early years are a key time to provide positive intervention and learning. This work will lead to good outcomes later on in life including better learning, access to good work and a fulfilling life.

By 2030 Wales wants more children to have achieved their full potential.

Designed to Smile

The health and wellbeing of our children is a priority. We know infections are common in their early years, however for most the risk of severe infection is low.

Infections can be acquired within various settings whether it is the home environment, childcare/educational settings or the community.

Settings can participate in a number of ways:

  • participating in the supervised toothbrushing programme
  • supporting the fluoride varnish programme
  • delivering oral health education lessons to children.

Please follow to link to find out how your setting can participate.
