Garden waste subscriptions now open for 2026
Published: 19/01/2026
Residents are being encouraged to sign up or renew their garden waste subscription for 2026, with an enhanced service that will provide collections year-round for the first time.
Alongside the usual fortnightly collections for nine months of the year, the service will now include monthly collections in December 2026, January 2027 and February 2027.
The annual cost of the garden waste subscription for 2026 is £38 (regardless of payment date). Payment can be made:
· Online
· At a Connects office
· By phone: 01352 701234
Garden waste collections will resume on Monday, March 2, 2026.
Residents who want to benefit from the service from the start are encouraged to sign up or renew as soon as possible to avoid missing the first collection.
Flintshire County Council Cabinet Member for Waste and Transportation, Councillor Glyn Banks said: “We know how important this service is to residents, and we’re really pleased to be able to offer collections throughout winter for the first time. By introducing monthly winter collections as well as our fortnightly service, we’re making it easier for households to manage garden waste all year round while continuing to support Flintshire’s recycling efforts.”
Residents who have subscribed to the service in previous years will not receive a new sticker once they have re-subscribed. If you are a new subscriber, a sticker pack will be sent out to you via the post.
The garden waste that is collected is then composted and available, free of charge, to residents at Household Recycling Centres.

Between 6pm on Friday, 27 February and 8am on Monday, 2 March, the payment system will be unavailable. Apologies for any inconvenience.
