Markets

Markets are a crucial component of town centres – bringing customers into the town, offering valuable business opportunities to traders, and adding energy and vitality.

Following an in-depth review of markets in Flintshire, Flintshire County Council is committed to increasing the scale and success of markets in the county.

Developing the future - Flintshire Markets
As part of the town centre regeneration work of the County Council, an independent review of Town Centre Markets in the County has been undertaken to assess the markets and to consider appropriate proposals for improvement or change, including looking at best practice from elsewhere in the UK.  The study involved a detailed assessment of the markets, which also included consultations with market traders, shoppers and neighbouring shops.

Please find here the Executive Summary of this markets review.

Distributing leaflets at markets
Any person or organisation wishing to hand out leaflets or pamphlets on Flintshire County Council markets on market days are required to submit an application form for a permit to do so, otherwise they are in breach of the Market Bye Laws and Regulations.

The permit is issued by the Markets Manager (07919 166279) and is valid for one month from the date of issue and costs £8.00. There is no fee payable for charitable organisations.
