Transformation

Transforming the way we do things!

Here at Flintshire we have a strong record of transforming the way we do things - not only to save money during times of unprecedented financial uncertainty, but also, and most importantly, to deliver efficient and effective services for the people of Flintshire.

For almost two decades Flintshire, along with every other Council in the UK, has been facing significant financial challenges as a result of reduced funding from UK and Welsh Governments.

During this time Flintshire has cut back on its spending by a massive £125m, transforming the way it does things to help protect valued local services. However, demand for services such as social care and housing continues to grow and there are no indications that our financial challenges will get better any time soon.

To perform well in this environment, we need to keep being inventive, creative and ambitious, and where possible avoid more traditional methods of budget management such as withdrawing services. We must also look to new and emerging technologies and go further to transform and protect those services valued by the people of Flintshire.

Our Transformation Programme aims to do just that.

As well as keeping you up to date on our aims and ambitions for the future, this Transformation Hub will feature some our past achievements, and when the time is right, will highlight opportunities for people to get involved and help shape what services will look like in the future.
