Builder - Housing Assets Service

Qualification:

Level 2/3 Building

What the team do:

  • We undertake Repairs, Maintenance and investment works to Flintshire County Council’s social housing stock (over 7300 homes) and associated assets such as community centers and garages
  • We ensure that we deliver a high quality, customer focused service, working with exciting new technologies, materials and modern methods of construction such as our new build and modular building projects

What you would get involved with:

  • Working in tenanted and empty properties covering a wide range of work, whilst being supported by a Team Leader and highly skilled trade operative
  • Gaining knowledge, understanding and experience to undertake work such as:
    • Learning how to correctly set out, measure quantities, mix and apply various coatings, using a wide variety of tools and techniques
    • Completing minor and major building works which includes repairing defective walls, paths, concrete roof structures, using varied types of brick, stone and construction related materials, mixes and finishes
    • Learning how to prepare, form, replace and maintain all types building work
  • Understanding of Health & Safety and the requirements of the work
  • Visiting new build development sites and large Capital Investment Programmes of work in Flintshire
  • And much more!!!

Electrician - Housing Assets Service

Qualification:

Electrical Installation Level 2/3

What the team do:

  • We undertake Repairs, Maintenance and investment works to Flintshire County Council’s social housing stock (over 7300 homes) and associated assets such as community centers and garages
  • We ensure that we deliver a high quality, customer focused service, working with exciting new technologies, materials and modern methods of construction such as our new build and modular building projects

What you would get involved with:

  • Working in tenanted and empty properties covering a wide range of work, whilst being supported by a Team Leader and highly skilled trade operative
  • Gaining knowledge, understanding and experience to undertake work such as:
    • Using portable battery tools and hand tools
    • Planning out works
    • Property rewires when necessary
    • Smoke detection installation including grades and requirements
    • Understanding Rewire/Smoke alarm specifications and applying to various tasks
    • Understanding RAM’s and their importance
    • Inspection and testing, reading various types of certification and also compiling reports from each Job
    • Ongoing work based training (asbestos awareness, working at heights, use of ladders, HAVS awareness and the use of PPE)
  • Understanding of Health & Safety and the requirements of the work
  • Visiting new build development sites and large Capital Investment Programmes of work in Flintshire

Joiner - Housing Assets Service

Qualification:

Joinery Level 2/3

What the team do:

  • We undertake Repairs, Maintenance and investment works to Flintshire County Council’s social housing stock (over 7300 homes) and associated assets such as community centers and garages
  • We ensure that we deliver a high quality, customer focused service, working with exciting new technologies, materials and modern methods of construction such as our new build and modular building projects

What you would get involved with:

  • Working in tenanted and empty properties covering a wide range of work, whilst being supported by a Team Leader and highly skilled trade operative
  • Gaining knowledge, understanding and experience to undertake work such as:
    • Working with different types of timber and other materials
    • Learning how to correctly measure, cut, drill and fix using a wide variety of tools and techniques
    • Working on small and large projects such as replacing floor boards, doors, kitchen units, worktops, windows and fences
  • Understanding of Health & Safety and the requirements of the work
  • Visiting new build development sites and large Capital Investment Programmes of work in Flintshire
  • And much more!!!

Clwyd Pension Fund (Pensions Section)

Qualification:

Level 2/3 in Business Administration

What the team do:

  • We look after the Local Government Pension Scheme’ (LGPS).
  • The scheme is used by approximately 50 employers in Flintshire, Denbighshire and Wrexham
  • We have a team of 50 who are responsible for all the administration, this includes:
    • Creating and maintaining pension records on our database
    • Calculating payments
    • Following LGPS regulations 
    • Providing excellent customer service when dealing with queries

What you would get involved with:

  • Sorting and scanning incoming post e.g. documents such as birth / marriage certificates, passports and driving licenses
  • Printing and posting letters to scheme members
  • Updating the pensions database e.g. change of address etc.
  • Processing records where the pension scheme member is due a refund
  • Undertaking general clerical duties
