Terms and Conditions of Service

Salary

£94,307 to £105,992 (4 point incremental scale)

Successful candidates will be offered the salary at the point closest to their existing salary, with progression through the pay scale dependant on performance against their role remit, performance objectives and behavioural competencies. 


Conditions of Service

The conditions of service are those prescribed by the Joint Negotiating Committee for Chief Officers of Local Authorities subject to any modifications and local agreements made by Flintshire County Council. 


Annual Leave

30 days annual leave plus public holidays as they fall due (currently 8 per annum).

Increasing to 33 days upon 5 years’ service.


Pension Scheme

Automatic enrolment into the Local Government Pension Scheme.

Working Hours

The nominal working hours are 37 per week. The status of this post requires the post-holder to accept a high level of flexibility in the performance of their duties given the responsibilities attached to the post.

The successful candidate will, therefore, be required to attend meetings and perform other duties relating to Council business outside normal office hours. 


Notice Period

The appointment is subject to three months’ notice in writing on either side. 


Political Restrictions

The post-holder will be subject to the political restrictions contained within the provisions of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989. 


Relocation Expenses

A relocation allowance is payable in appropriate cases up to a maximum of £8,000 (as per HMRC provisions)


Travel Expenses

The Council will pay all reasonable travel and subsistence expenses on production of receipts and in accordance with JNC conditions and other local conditions.
