North Wales Safeguarding Board 

The purpose of the National safeguarding training, learning and development standards are to make sure everyone in Wales gets consistent and good quality training, learning and development that’s relevant to their role and responsibilities. Here is a overview of the different safeguarding Groups, this will help you decide which training is most relevant to your job role -

• Group A – this is for everyone.
  This course will provide knowledge on the term 'safeguarding', recognise abuse, harm or neglect, know what actions to take, demonstrate understanding of basic laws and recognising that you have a duty to report.
  All practioners need to have a basic level of awareness of safeguarding.
• Group B – this is for people who work directly with children - e.g. Nursery workers, nannies and childminder assistants.
  They should have a higher knowledge of safeguarding, know who to talk to if they notice something is wrong and how to report a concern.
• Group C – this is for people who work directly with children and have particular safeguarding responsibilities e.g. Nursery Managers and childminders, Responsible Individuals (RIs), Designated Safeguarding Person (DSP).
  They need to be able to respond to safeguarding concerns.

Cwlwm is working strategically with DARPL (Diversity and Anti-Racist Professional Learning) to embed anti-racist practices in Childcare, Early Years and Playwork.

These self-study courses  are provided by Cwlwm in partnership with DARPL to introduce the concepts of anti-racist practice. There are two series of training, one aimed at Senior Leaders and one aimed at Practitioners.
