Housing Help

Published: 14/12/2016

Flintshire County Council has launched a social media campaign to raise awareness about housing advice and assistance available for residents. The campaign is targeting people who may not realise they are eligible for assistance, such as those on low incomes and struggling to manage rent and bills. Several themes will be addressed over the next few weeks, the first being Affordability. If you answer yes to any of the following questions, get in touch with Flintshire Housing Solutions who may be able to help. · Are you behind with your rent payments and in fear of losing your home? · Have you been hit by the bedroom tax? · Are you having problems paying your rent? Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing, Councillor Helen Brown, said: “Many people may not be aware that help is available if they find themselves in difficulty, for whatever reason, and are struggling to make ends meet. I would encourage anyone to get in touch with our housing solutions team who can provide advice on financial help or alternative affordable housing options. We want to ensure our residents access the services that are available to them through Flintshire County Council.” Housing Solutions can help in a range of circumstances including moving for work or to care for someone, leaving the armed forces or if your home is overcrowded or of poor quality. Housing Solutions can arrange access to affordable home ownership and social housing registers, help with a deposit for the private rented sector, access to money and/or benefits advice, access to homelessness services and or options for downsizing into retirement or sheltered accommodation.
