Council announces their long term partnership for supply of vehicle fleet

Published: 20/10/2016

Following a thorough procurement exercise, Flintshire County Council has now entered a 7 year partnership with Essential Fleet Services for the supply and maintenance of all of its 300 plus vehicle fleet. The new arrangement will result in Essential Fleet Services providing funding, fleet management and a full maintenance service for the entire Council vehicle fleet from the Council’s Alltami depot in Flintshire. Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Environment, Councillor Bernie Attridge, said: “The new arrangement will allow the Council to benefit from a partnership with an experienced fleet supplier who will bring cost savings and new efficiencies to the service alongside the provision of an enhanced and modern vehicle fleet. It will ensure that we will have the right vehicles at the right time to deliver the essential frontline services that our County’s residents depend upon and I look forward to working with our new partner over the coming years.’’ Ed Hummel, Sales Director at Essential Fleet Services, said: “Flintshire County Council is now one of our biggest customers and we are proud to be working with such a forward thinking Local Authority”. This new partnership agreement is of a comparable scale to our Lincolnshire County Council partnership that we have successfully run for over 40 years and we hope this is the start of a similar long term relationship with the team in Flintshire.” Essential Fleet Services are a national contract hire and leasing company focused on specialist commercial vehicle funding, short term rental and maintenance. They operate an in-house network of 15 workshops supported by a national infrastructure of partner service centres.
