We hope Flint people will come down to the Town Hall to show Jade how much we value her continuing outstanding Olympic achievements.” Flintshire County Council Leader, Cllr Aaron Shotton said: “The UK’s achievements in Rio have been top class, and the fact Jade, a Flintshire athlete, has significantly contributed to Team GB’s place on leader board is awe inspiring. Flintshire County Council will be supporting Flint Town Council in welcoming Jade home in style. She is a true role model for young people growing up in Flintshire and shows how with real desire you can achieve your dreams” Councillor Kevin Jones, Cabinet Member for Leisure said: “I would like to personally congratulate Jade, a double gold medalist at the age of 23, she is a truly inspirational young lady who has demonstrated that with continued hard work and dedication anything is possible. We will be working over the coming months to ensure our sports development programmes build on Jade’s success and encourage anyone who wants to take part in sport to be able to get involved and get hooked on sport.” Flintshire County Council Chief Executive Colin Everett said: Jades success will I hope inspire many Flintshire residents of all ages to take part in sport. Taekwondo has strong local links and I am sure an upsurge in demand for beginners’ courses can be expected following Jades inspirational Olympic success.
