With the EU referendum fast approaching, Flintshire County Council is reminding residents who are not registered to vote to do so by 7 June. The referendum on the UK’s membership of the European Union will take place on Thursday 23 June. The Electoral Commissions voting guide, which was delivered to every UK household over the past week, contains important information for voters on how to register to vote, how to cast your vote, and arguments from the lead campaigners for the ‘Remain’ and ‘Leave’ side. Colin Everett, Regional Counting Officer for Wales said, “Now that voters in Flintshire have received the voting guide from the Electoral Commission, voters should be informed and prepared to take part in the referendum on 23 June. Anyone that hasn’t received a copy can view it online at For anyone who is not yet registered go online”. Voters already registered do not need to register again for the EU Referendum. Rhydian Thomas, Head of the Electoral Commission in Wales said: “The referendum on 23 June is an opportunity for people to have their say on one of the key political issues of our time. “Voters have told us that they want accessible and impartial information so that they feel they can make an informed decision at the ballot box. We have sent our guide to every household across the UK so that as many people as possible feel confident about casting their vote on 23 June”. The guide is also available online in Welsh and English, and has been produced in a range of different languages and accessible formats. Any voters who require any additional information are advised to go to or to telephone the Electoral Commission helpline on 0800 3 280 280.
