New look website

Published: 22/09/2020

We have given our website (www.flintshire.gov.uk) a fresh new look and feel to make it easier for people to use.

Our website is an important channel to help us to deliver modern and efficient services that are available at a time and location convenient to our customers. It adheres to current Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and this means content is more easily accessed by a wider range of people with disabilities, including those with severe visual impairments and low vision, deafness and hearing loss.

The new look gives a clean and modern feel which reflects the direction of modern websites. It will allow people to access to the services and quickly search for information they need online.

We have also improved ‘My Account’, a personalised area on our website where you can customise and display information that meets your individual preference and interests. You can also track the progress of any online requests you have made to the Council, access waste and recycling information, view who your local councillor is and much more. Our tenants can also use My Account to check the progress of a repair, review and pay their rent. My Account is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

We are pleased that people helped us make these improvements by participating in customer engagement sessions. Their ideas have helped make our website easier to use for people to maximise the advantages online digital services offer.

Councillor Billy Mullin, Cabinet Member for Corporate Services said;

“At a time when we are all embracing the use of digital technology to keep in contact with friends and family and manage our daily lives I am pleased that we have been able to put in place key improvements to our website.

“I would like to thank those residents who volunteered to participate in our customer engagement sessions and we look forward to working with our communities in the future to further enhance content and features”.

Our Digital Strategy is ambitious and aims to enhance online services to encourage more people to access digital services.  The next step on our journey is to introduce a new payment portal to make it easier to pay for things online.  To get involved and provide your ideas and feedback visit: https://www.flintshire.gov.uk/en/Resident/Contact-Us/Website-Feedback.aspx
