Flintshire-based housing provider, North East Wales Homes is delighted to announce the purchase of eight new affordable homes from Deeside-based Property developer Edwards Homes on its Mayfield Park development in Saltney, Flintshire.

The eight properties form part of the company’s affordable rent portfolio and new residents moved into their homes at the beginning of the summer, following a period of marketing by Tai Teg, the Flintshire Affordable Housing Registered Provider.

This is the second successful scheme, the first being at Garden Village, where North East Wales Homes has partnered with Edwards Homes, and strategic plans are being developed for future schemes across the county.

Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing, Councillor Dave Hughes, said:

“NEW Homes has been set up specifically to meet the affordable housing need within local communities and securing these properties as part of the developer’s planning permission helps to achieve this.”

Paul Humphries, Chair of North East Wales Homes said:

“North East Wales Homes is delighted to deliver this high quality scheme for new affordable housing in Mayfield Park in partnership with Edwards Homes. We are committed to working with local developers to bring forward new opportunities for local people to access to access modern, quality accommodation. Given the uncertain times we are currently experiencing, the provision of affordable homes has never been as important.”

Neil Edwards, Managing Director of Edwards Homes said:

“Edwards Homes is delighted to be working with North East Wales Homes on this development, and hope it will be the first of many partnerships arrangements in Flintshire over the coming years.  In fact we are also now currently in discussions with North East Wales Homes again at our new development at Broad Oak, Northop to deliver much needed affordable homes in Flintshire.”

Interested applicants for future developments must firstly be registered with Tai Teg and meet their criteria. For more information and guidance in how to apply for one of these properties please visit taiteg.org.uk or email info@taiteg.org.uk.
