New Household Recycling Site to open

Published: 21/01/2015

Flintshire County Council will be opening a new Household Recycling site in Sandycroft on Monday 26 January, The new site on Prince William Avenue will offer full recycling and waste disposal facilities. It has been designed to make it easier for Flintshire residents to recycle their waste. There are no steps for residents to climb and the emphasis on the site will be for residents to recycle and divert as much waste away from landfill as possible. Councillor Kevin Jones, Cabinet Member for Waste Strategy, Public Protection and Leisure, said: This is a fantastic new site for the people of Flintshire. It is easy to use and I would encourage residents to have recycling in the forefront of their minds when using the facility. We want the site to be one of the best performing in Wales, if not the UK. The opening of the new site will see the closure of the smaller recycling sites at Queensferry and Saltney. An official opening is being planned for later next month.
