Published: 22/12/2014
Flintshire Music Service pupils achieved astounding marks in their latest
Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and Trinity College of London,
Rock and Pop examinations.
Pupils were examined across a wide range of instruments and voice. All pupils
passed the examinations with almost half of the candidates receiving the very
highest accolade; passing with distinction.
Councillor Chris Bithell, Cabinet Member for Education, said:
These are fantastic results. Flintshire Music Service is an established and
flourishing partnership between schools, parents, pupils and the Local
Authority.
The Music Service has long had a reputation for high quality instrumental and
vocal tuition and these latest set of results show that these high standards
are being maintained.
Aled Marshman, Manager of the Service said:
I am extremely proud of the talent shown by Flintshires young musicians and
the quality of the teaching offered by Flintshire Music Service. This year I am
delighted to say that over 1500 pupils have received tuition from the Service
and over 350 pupils attended their weekly after school rehearsals known as
Music School.
