Flint Redevelopment Plans
Published: 06/11/2014
Plans for the proposed redevelopment of the maisonette sites in Flint will go
on display at a public event in the town next week.
Flintshire County Council will host the public event at the Old Court House,
Flint on Monday 10 November from 12pm - 7pm to show the local community a
virtual walk through of how the town could look and feel after redevelopment.
The proposals are based on the Flint Masterplan that was finalised in 2012 and
the feedback from earlier consultation events. Stakeholders including local
residents and businesses gave their views on the town’s strengths and
challenges that included the poor physical appearance of the maisonettes and
the need to ensure that areas of the town are better connected.
The proposals will be presented as a 3d model on a large screen that will show
the proposed layout of new houses, roads, public spaces and key buildings. The
proposals aim to develop Flint as a viable and attractive town that better
serves the needs of the existing community and also has the ability to attract
people from outside the town.
Councillor Helen Brown, Cabinet Member for Housing said: “We would like to
invite the people of Flint to come along to the drop in event and experience a
virtual walk through of the fantastic new proposals.
“There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and give feedback to the
County Council – and feedback from this session will be taken on board to
finalise the development proposals.”
