More information will be made available at a presentation evening on Tuesday 4 November from 7pm at County Hall, Mold for students and their parents. The Flintshire Optec Japanese Youth Exchange, a cultural exchange with Japan takes place during late July and August when local students and their families host six Japanese students who will spend two weeks sharing cultural events and Welsh hospitality. Flintshire students will then fly to Japan where they are guests of the Japanese Exchange students’ families and dignitaries who immerse them in an exciting, once-in-a-lifetime experience of Japanese culture. Councillor Glenys Diskin, Chair of Flintshire County Council said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for young people from Flintshire to see a different culture, living with local families and making friends for life. The Japanese students get the chance to visit Wales and the whole exchange is a fantastic experience. I’d encourage any students and their families who are interested to come along to meeting for more details.” Application forms and further information will be available at the presentation evening, from Beth Ditson, the Japanese Youth Exchange Coordinator on 07786 523 601 or Paula Jones / Ceri Steele on 01352 704400.
