Talacre Beach parking
Published: 15/04/2014
Parking at the beach in Talacre will be severely limited over Easter weekend
due to recent high tides and storm surges.
The storm events of late December 2013 and January 2014, along with monthly
high tides have left the surface of the main beach car park, owned by Natural
Resources Wales and Eni Liverpool Bay Operating Company, unsuitable for public
access at present.
In the interests of public safety the main beach car park will continue to stay
closed until conditions improve to allow safe open access for the rest of the
year. Natural processes will dictate the reopening of the beach car park to its
full extent, but it is anticipated the surface could dry out within two to
three weeks in good weather conditions.
Councillor Bernie Attridge, Cabinet Member for Environment said:
“We know that Easter is a very busy time for visitors but due to circumstances
beyond our control unfortunately the car parking is restricted over the holiday
weekend. Once the weather improves the surface of the main car park should
hopefully dry out and can be used as normal.”
Flintshire County Council is asking people to consider local residents and
businesses and park responsibly in Talacre village during the holiday period.
