Confused by the job market or need advice about skills and training? Come along
to a jobs, skills and training event in Connah’s Quay for information about
your future.
Communities First Flintshire, Jobcentre Plus and Careers Wales are bringing
together local employers, service providers and job seekers at the Civic Hall
in Connah’s Quay on Thursday 18 September from 11am to 3pm.
Businesses with local jobs and work experience placements will be present on
the day to discuss current opportunities available. There will be practical
advice on how to find a job including workshops on interview techniques,
creating a CV and writing job applications. Further and higher education
partners will also be on hand to discuss training and courses available in your
community.
Representatives from the Communities First Enterprise Club will be attending to
promote entrepreneurial opportunities in Flintshire and the support available
for those wanting to start their own business.
Careers Wales will offer tailored support for 16-24 year olds along with the
new LIFT programme mentors who provide one to one support for those within a
Communities First area who have been out of work for more than six months and
come from a workless household.
Our Communities First parent adviser will also be available to offer support
and advice to parents looking to return to work, giving benefits advice and
looking at volunteering as an option.
Councillor Derek Butler, Cabinet Member for Economic Development said: “Our
jobs and training fair offers advice to anyone searching for a job or wanting
to talk to advisors about skills and training. Flintshire County Council is
committed to creating opportunities for people to gain employability skills to
ensure they are qualified for the jobs they want to pursue. There will be
workshops, colleges and local businesses all offering help and support to
anyone who needs it.”
