All Wales Coastal Path

Part of the All Wales Coastal Path will re-open in time for the August bank
holiday weekend after months of closure.
Due to the floods earlier this year Flintshire County Council had to close
several sections of the path in Flintshire due to breaches in the flood
defences. Public footpath No. 77 in Bagillt, known locally as Panton Cop, is
the last of the closures to be restored and has been closed for eight months
due to several breaches in the embankment.
Works have been carried out which ensure that this large section of the All
Wales Coastal Path in Flintshire will be open and available for users in time
for the bank holiday weekend.
Councillor Bernie Attridge, Cabinet Member for Environment said: “It’s great to
see the path finally re-opened and ready for the public to enjoy over the
holiday weekend. The All Wales Coastal Path takes residents and visitors
through some fantastic areas in the County and showcases some wonderful history
as well as giving the public the chance to walk through some lovely
countryside.”
