Llys Eleanor Fete

Tenants at Llys Eleanor, the Extra Care scheme in Shotton are holding their
annual Summer Fete including novelty dog show on Saturday 9 August.
Llys Eleanor is managed jointly by Flintshire County Council and the Clwyd Alyn
Housing Association, part of the Pennaf Housing Group.
The tenants co-ordinate and run the event with help from their family and
friends. The fair and dog show will start at Llys Eleanor, Shotton Lane in
Deeside from 3pm with a showcase of Salsa dancing at 3.30pm. The dog show is
£1 to enter and has 10 categories including dog with the waggiest tail, most
handsome dog, fancy dress and best in show.
There will be horse and carriage rides, Moonshine Owls, plenty of stalls, face
painting, a tombola and raffle and refreshments.
Councillor Christine Jones, Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for
Social Services said: “There’s a great sense of community at Llys Eleanor which
is highlighted at the summer fete every year. I’d encourage anyone who’s in the
area on Saturday to come along and support the residents and enjoy the day.”
