Talacre Beach has achieved the Keep Wales Tidy ‘Seaside Award’ 2018. The Seaside Award is the nationwide standard for the best beaches across the UK that ensures visitors will find a clean, safe, attractive and well-managed stretch of coastline. At a time when more and more people are choosing to holiday at home, the Seaside Award is vital in ensuring visitors know they are enjoying the best of our beautiful and dramatic coastline. The Seaside Award is specially designed to recognise all the different uses of our coastline. Cllr. Derek Butler, Cabinet Member for Regeneration said; “I am delighted that Talacre Beach has achieved this much-deserved and sought after accolade that is a real boost for tourism in Flintshire. “Visitors to Talacre can expect to enjoy a wonderful stretch of Flintshire’s coast that is clean and well-managed that caters for a range of leisure interests, whilst providing the protection and nurture such a sensitive coastal marine environment requires. Information is also available to visitors about the beach, the local flora and fauna and how we can enjoy the area whilst helping to protect it for future generations to enjoy.” Dawn Beech, Dee Estuary Navigation Officer, Natural Resources Wales said; “Our beaches in Wales are fantastic places for local people and holiday makers to visit and explore the outdoors. We are proud to work with our partners at Talacre to look after this iconic area, which is home to important wildlife, like migrating birds and natterjack toads.
