Applications

Candidates are required to complete the Council’s standard application form.  Additional sheets can be used with regard to details of your work experience.  CVs will not be accepted.

References

The referees who are quoted on your application form must be contactable before final interview.  Referees should also be able to comment from first-hand experience on your suitability for this position and have worked with you during the last three years of your employment.

Closing Date

The closing date for receipt of applications is Friday 5 March 2021.

Timetable

Shortlisting will take place on Monday 8 March 2021 and candidates will be notified of the decision by noon on Tuesday 9 March 2021.

First stage interviews will take place on Wednesday 10 March 2021.

The Final stage consists of a Member Panel Interview (plus assessment) and will take place on Friday 26 March 2021.

Selection Process

The selection process will be as follows:

  • Your completed application form will be considered by the Chief Executive and the Senior Manager, Human Resources and Organisational Development who will prepare a short-list of candidates for first stage interview.  It is important that your application fully addresses the requirements of the Person Specification as short-listing will be based strictly on the criteria therein.
  • Short-listed candidates will be invited to attend a first-stage interview with the Chief Executive and the Senior Manager, Human Resources and Organisational Development. This interview will be conducted virtually.
  • Following the first-stage interviews, the Chief Executive the Senior Manager, Human Resources and Organisational Development will make recommendations as to which candidates should proceed to the final stage to a panel of Elected Members.  Members will decide, which candidates, if any, proceed to the final stage.
  • The Final Stage Interview with the Member Panel will take place on Friday 26 March 2021. Candidates selected for Final stage will be required to prepare and deliver a 10 minute presentation at the start of the interview. Further details will be provided in advance of the Final Assessment.  Ideally, the interview will take place in person, however, this may not be possible if the current restrictions are not relaxed.
