Pay & Display Car Parking
Civil Parking Enforcement was introduced into Flintshire in October 2013, and through effective enforcement many vehicles have been displaced to off street car parks. In order to maintain the vibrancy and vitality of the community/town it is essential to effectively manage off street parking usage.
Pay and Display parking is a good parking tool which, through the use of appropriate charging, encourages commuters to the car parks on the periphery of the centre, whilst promoting proximity spaces for short stay.
As such a county wide parking strategy was agreed in April 2015 to introduce Pay and Display parking into towns where the total number of available Council owned parking spaces exceeded 50. The towns effected and the timescales for introduction are:
- Talacre - July 2015
- Mold - 17th August 2015 (change of tariff)
- Buckley - 17th August 2015
- Holywell - September 2015
- Connahs Quay - December 2015
- Queensferry - December 2015
- Shotton - December 2015
- Mold (County Hall) - December 2016
- Flint - May 2018
To view current Pay & Display tariffs please check the relevant town.
Please note: The introduction of any parking charges will be subject to the relevant legal order
Car park maintenance
We are responsible for maintaining all council-owned car parks in Flintshire. Although regular inspections capture most of the defects that occur, sometimes damage can occur between inspections. If you notice a defect please report it and an ad-hoc inspection and remedial work can be carried out. Faults with pay and display machines are normally identified when they are emptied and tested.
