Safe Routes in the Community – Mountain Lane Primary School
Flintshire County Council has been successful in obtaining funding from Welsh Government to address Road Safety concerns and congestion on Knowle Lane, Church Road and Linthorpe Road Buckley, for the benefit of the community and children attending Mountain Lane Primary School.
Further to the public consultation event held at the school in July, and formal advertisement of the proposals thereafter, work will start on Monday, 19 November for an anticipated duration of up to Christmas, with the implementation of proposed traffic signals at the junction of Church Road and Knowle Lane scheduled after December.
Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Streetscene and Transportation, Councillor Carolyn Thomas, said:
“All critical works around the school will be carried out during the hours while the children are in school and disruption will be kept to a minimum during this time. This is a fantastic scheme which will also incorporate improvement to pathways and community links to encourage walking and cycling to school and around the community as well as ease congestion.”
