By-elections May 2021


Flintshire County Council and Town / Community.

By-elections are held when a vacancy becomes available between elections. This can happen at any level of government, from town and community councils and county council, to national government.

Vacancies arise when a member:

•    resigns
•    passes away
•    is declared bankrupt
•    is disqualified after not attending meetings for a continuous period of six months

The Returning Officer at Flintshire wishes to inform residents of 6 forthcoming by-elections.

Any person wishing to stand as a candidate should contact the Returning Officer at Flintshire County Council on 01352 702329, 702327 or 702412, or email elections@flintshire.gov.uk to obtain nomination papers. Completed nomination papers must be presented in person by appointment with the Returning Officer or his Deputy at County Hall, Mold no later than 4pm Thursday 8 April 2021.

Should any election be contested, polling will take place on 6 May 2021.
