What can I find out from my library?

Flintshire Library and Information Service offers a wide range of reference and information resources in paper and electronic form. Here are just some of the types of information resource available:
News and current events
@nswers centre for Reference and Information
Family History, Local history and the Flintshire Arthurian Collection are featured in detail on our History and Heritage at your library page.
Business Information
The @nswers centre in Mold Library and Museum holds a number of national and local business directories. Lending libraries around the county hold a variety of books designed to help in starting and running a business.
Flintshire Library and Information Service subscribes to the COBRA Complete Business Reference Advisor service online. This offers fact sheets on many aspects of setting up and running a business and is available free in all Flintshire libraries. Flintshire library members can also gain free access on their own computers by visiting the Online Reference Resources web page.
Reference Information
Larger libraries have reference books to help answer straightforward questions and the @nswers centre in Mold Library has a wide range of resources and a team of dedicated staff to help with more detailed local studies, family history and reference enquiries. A range of Online Reference Resources is also available in libraries and from your own computer.
News and current events
The library service subscribes to various newspapers and a wide selection of popular magazines including fashion, computing, lifestyle and home titles. You can use the library catalogue to find details of holdings or phone the @nswers centre on 01352 754791.
Online News Resources
The following online newspaper resources are available free in Flintshire Libraries. Flintshire library members can also gain free access on their own computers by visiting the Online Reference Resources web page.
Gale Infotrac makes 15 regional, national and international newspapers available to search for facts, news items and features. A wealth of full-text topical and historical articles is presented in an easy to use format.
NewsBank contains thousands of full-text articles from more than 20 Welsh and over 350 U.K. daily and weekly newspapers.
