Planning application fees
As part of your application you will need to pay the correct fee. A list of fees is provided along with details of how and when to submit your payment. Alternatively use the online fee tool to assist your calculations.
Please note: The fees in Wales are different from those in England. They are set by the Welsh Assembly Government and the Council has no discretion over the fees to be paid in any case.
The following fees will apply from 6th April 2009:

Online fee calculator
An online fee calculator is available from the Planning Portal website (new window).. It can assist you by working out the cost of any particular planning application.
It takes the form of a series of 'yes or no' answers from which data is compiled to calculate the total cost of the application ranging from a simple householder development to large scale schemes such as housing schemes or industrial estates.
Making your payment
We cannot determine your application until the correct fee has been received.
If submitting your application in person, you can pay by cheque, cash or debit/credit card. You will receive a receipt for your payment. Cheques should be made payable to ‘Flintshire County Council’ and must be submitted with your application.
If submitting your application by post, you can pay by cheque or postal order. Please do not send cash through the post. You will be sent a receipt shortly after payment is received.
Payments by Credit/Debit cards are also accepted by telephone on the following number 01352 703228. Please note this is not an automated service, you will be speaking to a member of staff.
The fee cannot be returned if you withdraw the application or your application is rejected. However, if a development application is submitted for a proposal which does not need planning permission, you will be told within one week of this being established and we will refund your fee.
