In 2009, service users, colleagues and partner organisations worked with us to develop an actif future. Flintshire County Council's five-year leisure strategy set out your shared passion for, and commitment to, physical activity and sport for all.
Flintshire Leisure Services has a new registration and membership scheme for everyone known as actif.

Leisure Services manages four ‘bridges’ fitness suites at Deeside, Flint, Holywell and Mold Leisure Centres. ‘bridges’ facilities are suitable for all ages (over 13 years) and fitness levels, including disabled customers. The facilities include cardiovascular equipment such as treadmills, cross-trainers, bikes, steppers and rowing machines and a range of resistance machines for all muscle groups.
Buckley Leisure Centre is situated on the Elfed High School campus. Well sign posted from Mill Lane and a short walk from the centre of the town.
Connah's Quay Sports Centre is sited on the High School Campus off Golftyn Lane, Connah's Quay.
On 21 April 2011, Flintshire’s Health, Social Care and Well Being Partnership Board approved Creating an Active Flintshire 2011-14, the County’s local response to the national physical activity action plan, Creating an Active Wales.
Deeside Ice Rink is part of the Deeside Leisure Centre complex in Queensferry, and is the National Centre for Ice Sports in Wales.
On 18 June 2010, Flintshire County Council announced that a Partnering Agreement had been signed with Alliance Leisure for the re-development of the County’s leisure portfolio over the next four years.
Leisure Services operates a Fair Play Scheme whereby customers are able to participate in many leisure centre activities during Monday to Sunday, 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., at a price which offers great value for money.
Construction work has begun on the redevelopment of Flint pavilion. The fitness suite, which includes an additional eight pieces of cardio vascular equipment, is currently being refurbished and is due to open in January 2012.
Take the opportunity to swim for free and to take advantage of the variety of sports and activities being provided at your local leisure centre throughout school holidays, as a result of the Free Swimming initiative.
Our leisure centres manage the hiring of grass football pitches and associated changing facilities across the County. Some of these grass pitches are located on the leisure centre site and others are located off site within local communities.
Hope Sports Centre is sited on the Castell Alun High School Campus off Fagl Lane.
Saltney Sports Centre is located on the St. David's High School Campus off St. David's Terrace.
There are five swimming pools in Flintshire. They are located in: Mold, Holywell, Connah’s Quay, Flint and Buckley.
