State Retirement Benefits
The state retirement age used to be 60 for women, but from 2010 this will change. Between April 2010 and November 2018, a woman’s state pension age will increase from age 60 to 65 on a sliding scale. By November 2018, the state pension age for both men and women will be 65. Your date of birth will determine at what age you will receive your state pension.
From December 2018, the state retirement age is due to increase for both men and women. By April 2020, the state retirement age will be 66. Depending on your date of birth, you may reach state retirement age somewhere between your 65th and 66th birthdays.
