You can start using interactive mapping now

or you can read the description of the system features below

What is Interactive mapping?
It can be regarded as the computer-based equivalent of a map but an important difference is that it's interactive allowing users to move around the maps and query certain layers of mapped information presented. Within Flintshire County Council, maps are used in a variety of ways from locating traffic accidents to analysing school catchments areas etc. PlanAccess enables you to access Ordnance Survey (OS) and mapped data layers provided by a number of Flintshire County Council departments. Collections of mapped data layers are known as "Themes" when viewed in PlanAccess.

You need Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0 or Netscape version 4.0 or above to use PlanAccess. Other Internet browsers may not be compatible with PlanAccess.

Interactive mapping uses pop-up windows to provide information. Some Internet browsers will block these pop-up windows so you will need to ensure that 'pop-ups' are enabled in your Internet browser. More information on this is available on the www.bbc.co.uk wesite here

You will experience different download speeds of the Interactive Mapping web pages depending on your Internet Connection. This is normally either a modem dial up connection or a Broadband/ADSL connection.

If you are using a 56k modem dial-up connection, the Interactive Mapping pages will take around 20 seconds to download.
If you are using a Broadband/ADSL connection, the Interactive Mapping pages will take around 6 seconds to download.
