5. Responsibilities
The Wepre Country Park Education Service is run by Flintshire Countryside Service. We are responsible for delivering your educational requirements on the day of your visit. Although every care will be taken to adhere to your plan for the day, in unforeseen circumstances the management reserve the right to make changes without prior notification. All of our programmes are designed for a maximum of 30 children.
To ensure a safe and happy visit to Wepre Country Park each group leader should be aware that they are entirely responsible for the discipline, safety and overall conduct of their group.
6. Adult helpers
We need a ratio of 1:5 adults to children for all of our programmes offered. We expect visiting groups to bring at least the minimum requirement of adults to children required by Flintshire's LEA. However, our advised ratios will help children to get the most out of their education day at Wepre Park. Adults brought to help on the day are free of charge
7. What to bring on the day
Payment - unless pre-arranged with our office.
Packed lunch and drinks.
Register of children - in case of emergency
Name badges - useful for the quick acclimatisation of our staff to your children.
First Aid kits - you are responsible for the children's' health and safety on the visit although we are happy to help in any situation.
Appropriate clothing for a day of outdoor study. Wellies will be needed for work around Wepre Brook.

8. Self-guided visits to Wepre Country Park
If you intend to lead your own group around Wepre Country Park you will still need to gain permission from our office for what you plan to do. Permission has to be given for safety reasons and to help us to run our Education Service fairly for those groups that are paying for their visit. If you would like to hire equipment from us, please call within two weeks of your visit to check its availability. There is a charge of £5 for equipment hire, with a £25 returnable deposit. Please ask us if we have the equipment that you need.
9. Orienteering
Wepre Country Park has a well maintained orienteering course complete with standard format orienteering maps. If you would like to organise an orienteering event at Wepre, please inform our office. Use of the orienteering course is free. Orienteering maps of the park cost 50p each and come in a protective plastic wallet.
10. Important note
We are happy to inform you that our Education Service continues to deliver quality outdoor experiences for all ages, despite losing the use of Wepre Visitor Centre. However, we can now only accommodate one visiting school per day. If you intend on visiting, either as a self guiding group or using our Education Service, we would urge you to contact our office well in advance of your visit to discuss your needs.
Please also note that we do not have a gift shop or refreshments currently available at Wepre Country Park.
