What do I get?
You can apply for a bus pass or railcard, you cannot apply for both.
Bus passes give you:
unlimited free travel in Flintshire
unlimited free travel throughout Wales
free travel to and from Countess of Chester Hospital
free travel on cross border journeys that go into England, provided that your journey is unbroken and starts or finishes in Wales
Railcards give you:
one third off most rail fares throughout the UK
Who is eligible?
Residents in Flintshire who are:
In any application for a concessionary travel pass, the applicant is responsible for providing sufficient evidence to satisfy the Council that their principal or primary residence is in Flintshire. We accept the following pieces of evidence as proof of residency.
A Council Tax bill;
Evidence of rent payments;
A current driving licence; or Benefits documents.
What will it cost to apply?
Your first bus pass is free, annual railcard renewals are free.
How do I apply?
Apply online for a bus pass/railcard (will open an e-form)
Visit any one of our county offices (in Buckley, Connah's Quay, Flint and Mold), the Flintshire Connects Office in Holywell, the Enquiry Office in Mold Bus Station or County Hall in Mold. View Council Office locations. Drop off a completed application form and the required documents and we will post your bus pass or rail card claim form out to you. County Hall is the only office that can produce your bus pass while you wait.
Post a completed application form and copies of the required documents to Flintshire County Council, Concessionary Travel Transportation Unit, County Hall, Mold, Flintshire CH7 6NF. Please do not send original documents.

You must provide the following documents:
A copy of your photocard driving licence is acceptable for proof of both age and address, however please ensure the attached copy clearly shows both of these. A copy of your passport / driving licence is not acceptable for your photograph.
How do I renew?
What happens next?
Bus passes - We aim to issue new bus passes within 10 working days of receiving an application. Replacement bus passes are usually processed on the day of receipt. The pass will be posted out to the applicant.
Railcards - On receipt of a railcard application/annual renewal, we will supply the customer with a unique code. The code will allow the applicant to apply directly for their Railcard at www.senior-railcard.co.uk or by calling 08448 714 036. There will be no cost to the applicant. Railcards will be posted by first class within one working day directly to the applicant’s address.
Lost, stolen or damaged passes
Call our Transportation Unit on 01352 702856 to arrange a replacement. Avoid damage to your card by keeping it flat.
Replacement bus passes cost £5
Replacement railcards cost £30 (your annual renewal is free)

If you forget your bus pass or railcard when you make a journey, you will need to pay the fare which is non refundable.
