Right to Buy

Flintshire County Council has received notification from the First Minister of Wales, Carwyn Jones AM, that Flintshire County Council’s application for a direction to suspend the Right To Buy, Right to Acquire and related rights has been granted on the 21st February 2017 for a period of five years.  During this suspension period tenants of Flintshire County Council and housing associations living in Flintshire may not claim to exercise the right to buy or right to acquire.  By suspending the Right to Buy, Flintshire not only retains its existing council housing stock levels but also safeguards new properties to maximise the housing opportunities for local people living in Flintshire.  Please view the attached link to see a copy of the Direction Notice.
