Travel and Council Tax. The centre will also enable Partner agencies to hold
community surgeries.
The opening times for the new combined Flintshire Connects, Library and
Heritage Display are:
Monday and Tuesday – 8.30am to 7pm
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday – 8.30am to 5.30pm
Saturday – 9am – 12pm
Councillor Billy Mullin, Cabinet Member for Corporate Management said:
“Flintshire Council is committed to delivering high quality, accessible public
services to all residents living in the Connah’s Quay and Deeside area.
Building on the success of Flintshire Connects in Holywell and Flint we hope to
improve our customer services giving residents the chance to talk face to face
with advisors. The programme also offers opportunities to other public
organisations to work in partnership with the council offering surgeries and
workshops to join up services under one roof.”
Flintshire Connects will be officially opened at 11.30am on Monday 14 July with
a formal ceremony involving local community leaders followed by an open
afternoon of activities from 1.30pm to 7pm for the public.
There will be a chance for the under 5s to enjoy Rhymetime, while older
children will be given the chance to be entered into a free prize draw if they
call in and sign up for the national Summer Reading Challenge.
The Heritage Display is keen to capture local memories and individuals and
community groups are encouraged to call in with their old photographs,
documents and memorabilia where they can be scanned for possible future
display. While they are there visitors can also get ‘hands on’ in the museum
handling some of the Heritage Display exhibits.
The Credit Union will be on hand to talk about affordable loans and savings,
North Wales Police will be sealing fingerprints in key rings and the Greenfield
Valley Museum staff will be offering free badge making.
In addition to the special activities on offer during the afternoon visitors
can make use of the usual facilities delivered in the centre such as paying
council bills, enquiring about council services, joining the library, using the
computers free of charge and taking advantage of free WiFi.
