Published: 08/12/2016

A town in Flintshire is inviting residents to a “Dementia Friendly” shopping event on Thursday 15 December. Working together, Flintshire County Council Social Services and local businesses and Demetria Friendly Flint Steering group in Flint are opening up the doors of High Street stores to offer residents living with dementia, their carers and family members a dementia friendly shopping experience. The Parish church of St Mary and St David will be hosting a variety of festive celebrations including the Support For Working Age Girls and Guys (S.W.A.G) Choir and the Flint Ladies Choir who will be singing Christmas carols for the residents and families, whilst volunteers will be providing mince pies and other refreshments. On arrival, look out for volunteers in Santa hats who will provide a map and information about the shops taking part. To find out more please call Luke Pickering-Jones 01352 702655.
