Flintshire welcomes the Urdd!

Published: 27/05/2016

For the first time since 1984, the Urdd National Eisteddfod is coming to Flintshire! And Flintshire County Council will be welcoming everyone to their marquee during the week-long family festival, where there will be visitor information available and various activities to take part in. The Leader of Flintshire County Council, Councillor Aaron Shotton, said: “It’s great to have the Urdd Eisteddfod back in our county and I wish everyone a really successful week. The Flintshire marquee contains lots to see and do – from information on all our wonderful tourist attractions and visitor information, to craft activities and even a photo booth! I’d encourage everyone to come along and say hello! “I was pleased to be able to present Ysgol Trelogan with their prize for the best decorated school last week. Fourteen primary schools across the county entered the competition and the standard was really high. It created a real buzz of anticipation amongst the pupils, many of whom will be performing at the Urdd.” The Eisteddfod will be held on the fields of Flint High School. 92% of visitors agree that it’s a great day out for the whole family.
