New Chairman

Flintshire County Council today (Tuesday 20 May) elected Councillor Glenys Diskin JP as Chairman. Councillor Diskin was born in Shotton and has lived in Mancot for the last 32 years. She is married to Councillor Alan Diskin and has a son and a daughter. Cllr Diskin has run the Mancot Post Office for the past 29 years and has been a Labour councillor for over 25 years. She is Chair of the North Wales Police and Crime Panel and has also been a Justice of the Peace for 22 years. The Vice-Chairman for the coming 12 months will be Councillor Ray Hughes. Cllr Ray Hughes has represented Leeswood since 2008. He was a councillor for Delyn Borough Council and has also been a community councillor for 40 years. He is married to Gwenda and has three sons. A former joiner, Ray is very actively involved in his local community and is very interested in football and cricket.
