Dog fouling prosecution
Published: 14/05/2014
A Flintshire woman has been prosecuted and fined for failing to clean up after
her dog.
Mrs Jane Taylor of 47 Chester Close, Shotton was prosecuted by Flintshire
County Council at Wrexham Magistrates Court on Thursday 8 May for failure to
remove dog fouling and failure to provide details.
The offences were committed at Field 33 in Shotton in February. Mrs Taylor
pleaded guilty to both offences and was fined a total of £542.60.
Operation Clean Up is the Council’s initiative to target irresponsible dog
owners and anyone committing the offences of littering, fly tipping and
graffiti. A zero tolerance approach is being taken to these crimes, with
culprits caught being issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice of £75.
Ongoing patrols are continuing in other areas across the county.
Councillor Kevin Jones, Cabinet Member for Public Protection, Waste and
Recycling, said:
“The on-going campaign of Operation Clean-Up shows Flintshire County Council is
determined to clear up the county. There will be fines for people who commit
these anti-social offences and if the fines are ignored people will be
prosecuted.”
