Tom Williams, Mold Leisure Centre Manager, said:

“The team at Mold Leisure Centre is immensely excited about its opening and are looking forward to delivering a new fitness programme to existing and future members.  This new facility will enable us to expand on the services we currently provide to the community and continue to cater for customers of all ages. The addition of a second first floor studio and the expansion of the fitness suite will support the delivery of new activities for both the community and the two adjoining high schools.”

Christine Edwards, Chair of the Board of Directors for Aura added “The investment in Mold Leisure Centre is a key part of our Aura strategy to benefit the community by improving quality of life through the provision of culture and leisure opportunities that improve mental health and physical well-being.”  Aura, an employee owned and not-for-profit organisation, want to continue to increase ways to keep community members active.  The facilities are impressive and the Mold Team should be proud of what they have delivered.

Cabinet Member for Education and Youth, Councillor Ian Roberts, said:

“It is fantastic to see the completion of a major capital investment in Mold to improve Flintshire’s facilities.  We work co-operatively with Aura which means, rather than having to consider the future of some of our leisure centres and libraries, we are jointly securing jobs and investing in our leisure centres to make them better for our residents.”
