Chairman's Civic Service
Each year, Flintshire County Council holds a Civic Sunday service close to the start of the new municipal year, which begins in May.
The Church is chosen by the new Chair of Council. The Chair of Council chooses a member of the clergy to act as 'Chair's chaplain' during their year of office. This year, the Chaplain is the Reverend B Harvey, Rector of Flint and the Civic Service was held at the Church of St Mary and St David in Flint on 1 July 2018.
It was attended by the High Sheriff of Clwyd, Lady Hanmer and her husband, Lord and Lady Jones, local MPs, AMs, Councillors, officers of Flintshire County Council, neighbouring authorites' and town and community councils' dignitaries and the Chairman's family and friends.
