  Private Hire and Hackney Carriage Licensing

The Licensing Section is responsible for the licensing of all Private Hire and Hackney Carriage vehicles and drivers, and all Private Hire Operators within the County of Flintshire.

Private Hire, journeys must be pre-booked through a licensed Operator.
Hackney Carriage, vehicles work from a taxi rank and may ply for hire.

There are 4 types of licence granted by the Council:

(1) Private Hire Operator Licence
(2) Private Hire & Hackney Carriage Drivers Licence
(3) Private Hire Vehicle Licence
(4) Hackney Carriage Licence

The above Officers can be contacted Monday to Friday during normal office hours. However, if you call out of office hours, you may leave a message on the answer phone and your call will be returned by one of the above Officers during normal office hours.

If you wish to visit County Hall to speak in person to either of the above Officers, or to make an application for a licence you must telephone administration to make an appointment on telephone number (01352) 702349 or submit an enquiry.
